How to configure a SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) package?

11 shares Comment

This curation contains links to content that helps you understand different ways of configuring an SSIS package. SQL Server 2008 R2 and earlier versions allow you to configure an SSIS package by using one of the following options: System Environment Variable, Registry, XML file, SQL Server table, and a parent package variable. SQL Server 2012 supports two deployment models: Project Deployment Model and Package Deployment Model. The package deployment model is the one that is carried over from SQL Server 2008 R2. Hence, if you use the package deployment model, you could use the five configuration options mentioned earlier. If you use the new project deployment model in SQL Server 2012, you can only configure an SSIS package by using parameters and SSIS environments (not operating system environment).
